Dr Chantel Giliomee, BVSc
Veterinarian / Practice Manager
Chantel completed her Veterinary degree in 2012 at the University of Pretoria in South Africa. After working in small animal practice there, Chantel and her family decided to relocate to Brisbane. Chantel enjoys the many aspects veterinary medicine has to offer, she aims to provide the best standards of care for you and your furry family and enjoys meeting new faces each day. When not in the clinic, Chantel spends her time with her family and greyhound Sadie exploring their new home.
Dr Rachel Reid, BVSc (Hons)
Rachel graduated from UQ and has spent the last 4 years in small animal practice on Brisbane's north side. She has an interest in surgery and is looking forward to meeting all her new patients at Morningside. On weekends she enjoys bike riding and looking after her partner's dogs, Mia the Kelpie and Bella the Koolie.
Dr Cathy Czarnuszewicz, BVSc
Cathy Covers alot of our weekend work & you will often find her on our late nights on Wednesdays. Cathy has a wealth of knowledge & has been in the industry for many years. She is also the proud owner of two dogs Jarrah an Australian Cattle dog & Toby a Kelpie
Dr Shirley Ngan, BVSc (Hons)
Shirley completed her studies at the University of Queensland in 2020 and joined the team soon after graduation. She enjoys many aspects of veterinary science but has a special interest in internal medicine.
Outside of work, Shirley loves to craft and spend time with her friends, family and two fur babies, Lumi and Lily.
Meg joined the Morningside Vet team in 2020, initially as a student before completing her Cert IV in Veterinary Nursing through Tafe Queensland and transitioning to fulltime work. Meg has taken on logistical roles within the clinic such as inventory and has been supporting Chantel in a 2IC role. She has a particular interest in animal behavioural science and training and is one of Morningside’s puppy preschool teachers – which is a highlight of her job. Meg has a fur baby of her own, a little cat named Buddy.
Millie began her Veterinary Nursing studies with us in 2018 and after completion of her studies eagerly joined the Nursing team. Growing up on a vegetable farm in Flagstone Creek Millie has always had a special interest in animals, from pet cows, chickens, horses, to her much loved family dogs Smiley and Luke. Millie has a special interest in-house laboratory diagnostics, nutrition and wildlife. Millie hopes to pursue her special interest in animal welfare related charity work. At home, she has a mischievous rescue cat, Tin Tin who rules the house.
Sarah is the newest member to join our team but is certainly not new to the animal industry. Before completing her vet nursing studies in 2018, she has also worked as a zoo keeper and many years before that working in a cat & dog boarding kennel. Sarah completed her nursing studies in NSW where she then spent 4 years working in a mixed practice country clinic. After a recent change of scenery, Sarah is excited to continue her nursing career here in sunny QLD as part of the Morningside team. Sarah shares a special interest in dental care and exotic creatures. Sarah has 2 beautiful kittens at home named Akira and Tora.
Seeba’s love for animals started at a very young age telling her parents she wanted to be a “doggy doctor”, She was able to fulfill this passion by studying and working as a veterinary nurse from the age of 17. Seeba has been nursing since 1995 and started her career as an emergency nurse in a 24 hour vet hospital. Seeba enjoys helping animals in need and giving guidance and support to their owners. During her career she has gained a special interest in surgery and orthopedics. At home, Seeba has a quite few rescued animals including: Ginghi a ginger tabby cat who is missing one eye, a conure parrot, a turtle and a sussex chicken. In her spare time loves spending it being a mum, fishing, reading and keeping active.
Lauren has been working as a Veterinary Nurse since 2012 in both general practice and critical care. Lauren’s areas of interest include imaging (both radiography and ultrasound) as well as the pathophysiology of disease. When she is not working, she is playing netball, going to see live music and travelling when COVID allows it.
Indira always wanted to be involved in the animal industry and provide the best possible care to all animals. She is now very proud to make that dream come true after completing her Cert IV in Veterinary Nursing through TAFE QLD in 2022. Indira has an interest in surgical nursing and pathology, which she has been learning alongside our knowledgeable Vets and nurses here at Morningside vet.
Junior Animal Assistant
You'll find Jake here Saturday mornings running our hydrobath or assisting in the hospital. Jake is currently completing his senior year of high school. After finishing school Jake is interested in continuing his career with animals.
