Dr Tessa Jones, BVSc
Senior Veterinarian / Clinical Director

After graduating from James Cook University in 2018, Dr Tessa moved straight home to help the pets of Brisbane. She is a general practice all-rounder and enjoys soft tissue surgery, preventative medicine, managing chronic medical conditions and wildlife medicine. And now she is also taking on a new challenge, as Clinical Director of Morningside Vet!
Her favourite part of being a Vet is seeing the bond people form with their pets, and she hopes she can help enhance and prolong that bond.
At home she has a diabetic cat named Beau. In her spare time she enjoys yoga, painting and spending time in nature.

Outside of the clinic, Josie leads an active lifestyle, enjoying activities such as running, playing tennis, and seeking adventures at the beach or in the snow.
At home, Josie shares her life with a diverse group of feathered and furry companions: Buttercup, a 14-year-old runner duck; Meryl and Beryl, two re-homed ducks from King's College; three backyard chickens—Earl, Wyatt, and Brown Chicken; her beloved Labrador, Daphne; and Percy, a nonchalant feline who rules the roost.
Dr Michelle Egan, MVB

Dr Michelle graduated from veterinary science in 2014 and joined the team at Morningside Vet in March 2025. With a strong passion for surgery, she has gone on to complete further postgraduate exams and is proud to hold Memberships in Small Animal Surgery with the Australian & New Zealand College of Veterinary Scientists.
Michelle thrives on the precision and problem-solving that surgery demands, and she’s dedicated to providing the highest standard of care for her patients - whether it’s a routine desexing or a complex soft tissue procedure.
Outside of work, Michelle enjoys spending time with her family, travelling, and diving into all kinds of DIY projects and crafts at home. She shares her life with Harris, a very handsome (and energetic!) German Shorthaired Pointer.
Sarah
Veterinary Nurse / Practice Manager

Sarah joined our team at the start of 2022 but has been working in the animal industry for many years before coming to us. Before completing her vet nursing studies in 2018, Sarah worked as a zoo keeper and spent many years before that working in a cat & dog boarding kennel. Sarah completed her nursing studies in NSW, where she then spent four years working in a mixed practice country clinic. We're excited to now have her here in sunny QLD as part of the Morningside team.
Sarah has been thriving in her role as Practice Manager, bringing her experience and passion for both patient care and clinic operations to the team. She also runs our puppy pre-school, helping new pet parents set their pups up for success.
Outside of work, Sarah enjoys getting crafty with various DIY projects or curling up with a good book and her two beautiful cats, Akira and Tora. She has also welcomed a new golden retriever puppy, Emi, into her family, adding even more joy to her life.
Maggie
Veterinary Technician

Maggie graduated with a Bachelor of Veterinary Technology from UQ in 2019 and since then has been working in general practice. Maggie has had a passion for helping animals as long as she can remember and has always known she wanted a career in the veterinary industry. Maggie claims she doesn't have a preferred area of interest, she considers herself more of an all-rounder, although if she had to pick she said she would choose medicine/hospital nursing. At home Maggie has an adorable cocker spaniel named Flora and two cats - a domestic shorthair named Clancy and a Ragdoll X named Betty.
Outside of work you can find Maggie taking Flora on big walks, spending time with loved ones, reading or decorating her new house.
